What is most Important to you?
One of the first questions I ask my clients is, what is most important to you about your wedding photos. Perhaps, what are the top three things or something similar that comes up in our conversation.
It is vitally important for us to know what is important to you about your wedding day photography! It does not matter if we have done hundreds of weddings and what was popular for those wedding couples. If you don’t like it, we don’t want to do it!
What may be even more important for both of us is what you do NOT like! You know the adage about bad news traveling even faster than good news. If you do not want something, please let us know! It may sound obvious but what often happens is that it is so obvious to you that it is bad you may assume everyone knows it is bad and it would never happen. Please let us know! When we guess, we often guess wrong and nobody likes that!
We have a form that is with us on every single wedding. Your preferences need to be on our form. It is with us and in writing, to remind us. Even we get in a groove and slip into something we may have done many times before. If it is something you do not want, then THAT is what is important! That becomes what we want! ( or don’t want. In this case )
It can also be important to be open to other styles or options you may not have thought about. Be flexible! IF it is something you can be flexible about, allow our creativity to flourish! Chances are good that you will be pleasantly surprised. I hear all the time how a favorite photograph was one that a couple either did not really initially want, did not expect, did not know was going to happen or something they forgot about or did not even see happen! A rigid list or schedule would have eliminated that image from being preserved!
Let us know the things that are most important to you. We will make sure those happen! Let us also know what you do not care for. After that, allow us to do what you hired us to do! Then relax and know you will get amazing images. Many, you will not even expect! Certainly they will be something to look forward to and ultimately cherish for a lifetime!
