Sweet Spot

Before I even ran my studio, the saying I heard for services was' choose from Quality, Service and Value. Pick ANY TWO, you cannot get all three! The more i thought about that, the more they were right!

For photography the three criteria I hear most often are:

  1. Price
  2. Quality of the Images
  3. Experience or Expertise of the photographer.

Most often, you again, have to settle for only TWO.

When i set up my studio, i always strived to separate myself by being that sett spot of all three! I told my wife, I never wanted to be a photographer that would not want to hire myself! I wanted all three!

You are probably (and rightfully) skeptical of that statement. There is always a downside! My confession and what you may give up with me is on the the service end or communication. I am not the most administrative person in the world! I am not the best with follow up. You could leave me a message and it may take longer than you might want for me to get back to you. Or i reply in a manner that is not your faborite method. I can assure you I will try , but it just does not always happen. You'll still get great quality images, and all my eperience at a reasonable price but in that first example, it's the service part that just seems to fall short, as much as i try. I am also bad at run on sentances. I know that part was bothering some of you! My English major sister and super smart wife are in my head right now.

As much as I may not like it. Something does have to give and this is mine: I not only run a business; I am active in our Church, I have a wonderful wife and we have 8 incpredible children. These kids also have social events, practive and work schedules. if you can live with that, I may be right for you. If you wan to start your family with a sudio that respects family values, we might just be the perfect studio for your wedding!

Another advantage I offer is that I actually stilll really do love capturing weddings! Many photographers will confress, off the record, that they dislike weddings. They may tolerate or outright hate them! When I initially got started, I'd say I had a similar plan too. Do some weddings to get started and after I am established, do other "real" photography and not tie up all my weekends.

The longer i preserved weddigns through, ,the more diverse people, denominations and traditions I came across. I found out I really love experiencing the new and different people coming together and starting their new families together. I enjoyed the high pressure, fast paced, ever changing days. I love watching my clients faces when they see THEIR amazing images! Photos the were not expecting. Things they forgot about. Things that look better than they remember them loking, etc. It's those kinds of things that really make this job a true blessing and not just another day at the office!

By the time I had the experience to deliver that quality and offer my expertise, I was hooked and found that I genuinely love preserving weddings! it was then when I relaized, I had become that Sweet Spot that I had always sought after myself!
